HERNIA

A hernia is an abnormal protrusion of tissue or an organ, such as the intestine, through the wall of the cavity in which it normally rests. Hernias come in different types. It most commonly involves the abdomen, specifically the groin. Inguinal hernias are usually of the inguinal type, but can also be femoral.
